On Sunday, November 10, 2019, the Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative in partnership with Donald Murphy of Big Babies BBQ participated in Tallahassee Bass Pro Shops First Annual Hometown Heroes Grill-Off. We knew Murphy was an outstanding griller and he proved it by taking First Place in both the BBQed Chicken Quarter Legs and Pulled Pork Judge tasting competition. Big Babies BBQ was also chosen as the overall grand Grill-Off Champion. Big Babies BBQ received the three first place plaques and TVLC was the hero’s charity of choice for the donated prizes. We were all surprised to be the veteran organization that benefited from Tallahassee Bass Pro Shops First Annual Hometown Heroes Grill-Off. Congratulations to Donald Murphy for being the Judge’s pick as the Champion Griller. TVLC is very thrilled that Murphy received these awards and we are most grateful to Murphy for his gracious partnership. This fundraising project was led by Washington J. Sanchez, Jr., TVLC VP, Carla Dean TVLC fundraising chairperson, Robert Guilday, TVLC operator and Greg Pruitt, a Marine Corps veteran volunteer. It was a fun time for all, and we are grateful to Bass Pro Shops for creating and hosting this awesome fundraising opportunity.
